Who we are and what this policy covers
DarkCom Enterprises LLC (“DarkCom”, “we”, “us”) operates www.darkcom.co (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through the Site, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have in relation to it.
This policy covers the Site and the client text-messaging program described under SMS communications below. When we deliver services to a client, we handle project data on that client’s instructions under the agreement we have with them, and that agreement — not this policy — governs it.
In short: the Site collects personal information only when you choose to send it through a form or by email. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no trackers, and does not sell or share personal information with anyone for their own marketing. Clients who opt in receive text messages about their own account, and nothing else.
Information we collect
Information you provide
Every form on the Site is optional, and each one tells you what it is for. Depending on which you use, we receive:
- Project brief (contact page): your name, organization, work email, an optional phone number, the capability you select, a budget band, a timeline, and the brief itself.
- Capability inquiry (the short form on each capability page): your name, organization, work email, what you need, and which capability page you opened it from.
- Careers application (careers page): your name, email, the role you are applying for, your availability, a link to your portfolio or professional profile, an optional security-clearance status, and your written answer. Clearance status is never required, is relevant only to defense-related roles, and is not used to evaluate you for anything else.
- Signal Brief subscription (footer): your email address, and nothing else.
- Email: whatever you include when you write to us directly.
- Client onboarding (a private link we send when you become a client): what we need to set up and deliver the service — your business details; names and contact details for the owner and any other contacts you list; your staff members’ names, mobile numbers, Google account email addresses, and working hours; your services, prices, and booking rules; and details about your phone line, website, domain, and Google Business Profile. It never asks for passwords. It also collects, through a separate box that is never pre-selected, your consent to receive text messages about your account. See SMS communications below.
If you give us information about other people, such as your staff, please make sure they know you are sharing it with us. We use it only to set up and run the service you engaged us for.
Information collected automatically
The Site is a static website hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel records standard request data in server logs — IP address, browser type, the URL requested, the referring page, and a timestamp — for security, capacity planning, and abuse prevention. We do not use this data to identify or profile individual visitors.
The Site does not set cookies of its own, does not use analytics or advertising technologies, and does not load fonts, scripts, or embedded content from third parties that could observe your visit. Fonts are served from our own domain. If any of this changes, we will update this policy before the change takes effect.
The client onboarding form is long, so it keeps your unsent answers in your browser’s local storage, which lets you close the page and come back without losing them. That draft stays on your device, is never sent to us until you submit the form, and is deleted when you submit or choose to start over.
Each form contains a hidden field that ordinary visitors never see or fill in. It exists only to catch automated spam submissions and collects nothing about you.
How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- respond to your brief or inquiry and scope a potential engagement;
- set up and deliver the services a client has engaged us for;
- evaluate your application and communicate with you about a role;
- send the Signal Brief to people who subscribed to it;
- send project notifications, payment reminders, and account communications by text message to clients who have opted in;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Site;
- comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
An optional phone number given with a project brief is used only to reply to that brief, and only if you said you would rather be called than emailed. It is never added to a marketing list and never enrolled in text messaging.
We do not use your information for advertising, do not build profiles of visitors, and do not make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects. A brief or an application never enrolls you in a marketing sequence.
Legal bases (for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland): we process your information with your consent when you subscribe to the Signal Brief or complete an optional field; to take steps at your request before entering a contract when you send a brief or inquiry; to perform our contract with you when you complete client onboarding; for our legitimate interests in securing the Site, answering the people who contact us, and evaluating candidates; and to comply with legal obligations where they apply.
SMS communications
DarkCom Enterprises LLC sends text messages (SMS) only to its own clients, and only about that client’s account with us: project notifications, payment and invoice reminders, and account communications. These are customer-care messages. They are not marketing, and we do not send promotional or advertising text messages.
You opt in on the client onboarding form by checking a separate SMS consent box that is never pre-selected. Consent is not a condition of working with us. We keep a record of your consent, and of any request to stop, so that both can be honored and demonstrated.
Message frequency varies with your account activity, up to 6 messages per month. Message and data rates may apply. To stop at any time, reply STOP to any message. For help, reply HELP to any message or email dcants@darkcom.co. The Terms & Conditions describe the program in full.
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your mobile number, opt-in data, and message content are disclosed only to the messaging platform provider and the mobile carriers that deliver our messages, and otherwise only as described under How we share information.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for:
- Briefs and inquiries: for as long as it takes to respond and, if the conversation leads to an engagement, for the life of that relationship and any record-keeping period that follows it.
- Applications: up to twelve months after a decision, so we can consider you for a later role — or sooner if you ask us to delete it. Longer only with your agreement.
- Onboarding details: for the life of the engagement and any record-keeping period that follows it.
- Signal Brief: until you unsubscribe.
- SMS consent: your opt-in record, and any STOP request, for as long as you are opted in and for as long afterwards as carrier rules and applicable law require us to be able to show it.
- Server logs: retained briefly by our host and deleted automatically. We do not archive them.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it so it can no longer be associated with you.
Security
Every connection to the Site uses TLS. Submissions are delivered to a business inbox where access is limited to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but if we learn of a breach that affects your information we will notify you as applicable law requires.
Please do not send passwords, credentials, classified information, or technical data subject to export controls through the forms or by unencrypted email. If a conversation needs that material, we will set up an appropriate channel first.
Your choices and rights
Everyone
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop contacting you. Email dcants@darkcom.co with the subject line “Privacy request”. We will confirm receipt, verify that the request comes from the email address the information is associated with, and respond within the period applicable law requires — and in any case within 45 days.
You can unsubscribe from the Signal Brief at any time by emailing us or by following the opt-out instructions included in each issue. To stop receiving text messages, reply STOP to any message, or email us.
United States state privacy laws
To the extent a state privacy law such as the California Consumer Privacy Act applies to you, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it, to access and correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale, its sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, and its use for targeted advertising or profiling. We do none of those three things, so there is nothing to opt out of, and browser opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control do not change how the Site behaves. We will never discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. You may use an authorized agent to make a request; we will ask the agent for proof of authorization and verify the request with you directly.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and data portability; the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests; the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that happened before; and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. We process personal information in the United States. Where a transfer mechanism is required, we rely on our providers’ standard contractual clauses or, for correspondence you initiate, on the necessity of the transfer to respond to your request.
Children
The Site is intended for businesses and working professionals and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the Site, contact us at dcants@darkcom.co and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
The Site links to third-party websites, including our service providers and tools we reference. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Their own policies apply once you leave the Site.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of the page tells you when it last changed. If we begin collecting something new or using information in a materially different way, we will update this policy before doing so and, where the change is material, note it prominently on the Site. Continued use of the Site after a change means the updated policy applies.
Contact
Questions, requests, or complaints about this policy or your information go to DarkCom Enterprises LLC at dcants@darkcom.co, or through the contact form on this Site. Either route reaches a person, not a queue.
The Terms & Conditions govern use of the Site and should be read together with this policy.
Effective September 25, 2026. Earlier versions are available on request from dcants@darkcom.co.
